GREETINGS
Thanks for taking a moment to read this month’s update. I hope you’re doing well. The photo above is of the sunrise in Wisconsin on 14 Oct 2026. Another photo from a little later that morning is at the bottom of this newsletter.
OCTOBER SUMMARY
We had an opportunity to visit northern Wisconsin in October. That was a very welcome break. Being immersed in nature is a great way to get refreshed.
As new homeowners, of an older home, we’re discovering that each season has new tasks. As we’ve just completed our first year in the home, we’ve now been through all the seasons and are getting ready for a more experienced and prepared second year.
During these cool dry days of fall, we’re enjoying more trail walking at the many parks in our area. A photo from Kent Park is at the bottom of this newsletter, below a Wisconsin photo.
For the past year, I’ve been mostly focused on service to others. As a result, I still have some unpacking and setup to do for my office and workspaces. Once I get my work areas organized, I’ll be more efficient and better able to get more done. There’s really been very little downtime for my usual administrative tasks and ongoing organizing since my support work fills up to meet people’s needs in the time of their need.
This year I’ve been doing some public interest work and activism using a few innovations to have more impact. In a few days I’ll learn more about the outcome of my work. I’ll report more in the December newsletter.
I’m very appreciative of everyone who supports my work, and to those who rely on me for tech support.
WRITING TOPICS
I’ve not yet resumed the topic reports found on the Resources For Life dot com website. I’ve not had the time for the long writing sessions they require, but I may get back to that in the future. The list of past reports can be found on the What’s New Page. Adding incrementally takes very little time since the post and related context are already present. So, I hope to start that practice up again.
TECH WRITING
If you’re interested in the latest tech-related guides and articles I’ve posted, you can visit the Posts Page on the Iowa City Tech website.

THANKS
Many thanks to all of you who keep in touch and provide support for the work I do.

Open Journal. These newsletters are my own way of journaling, where I summarize the memorable events from each month. I make the journal publicly available for transparency and to welcome feedback or insights from others. It’s also a way for family and friends to keep up with my life. Overall, it is a good exercise that gives me an opportunity to keep my writing skills exercised. With free blog platforms available, anyone can start their own online storytelling journal.
Origins. For those of you who are new to these monthly personal updates, they began about 26 years ago out of a desire to share from my personal life about topics of lifeways (faith/philosophy), health, career, finances, relationships, effective living, and public interest efforts. This is based on the Life Map presented on the Resources For Life website. [View]
