Personal Update 202609 | 30 Sep 2026

GREETINGS

Thanks for taking a moment to read this month’s update. I hope you’re doing well. The photo above is of a trail I was walking on 2 August 2026. At the bottom of this month’s newsletter is a photo of two deer from 22 August 2026.

REFLECTION

August was a month of reflection. The month began with news of someone I’ve known for a long time having passed away. I helped with their celebration of life. The rest of the month was filled with daily work. These monthly newsletters are sort of an open journal where I keep track of events. Because August became mostly a blur of work and being of assistance to people, there were no trips or any other big events. I spent quite a bit of time on short writings covering a variety of topics. I posted those to social media, but I may assemble them at some point to share here on my website. Below are the standard sections of the newsletter that remain mostly the same from one month to the next.

WRITING TOPICS

I’ve not yet resumed the topic reports found on the Resources For Life dot com website. I’ve not had the time for the long writing sessions they require, but I may get back to that in the future. The list of past reports can be found on the What’s New Page. Adding incrementally takes very little time since the post and related context are already present. So, I hope to start that practice up again.

TECH WRITING

THANKS

Many thanks to all of you who keep in touch and provide support for the work I do.

Open Journal. These newsletters are my own way of journaling, where I summarize the memorable events from each month. I make the journal publicly available for transparency and to welcome feedback or insights from others. It’s also a way for family and friends to keep up with my life. Overall, it is a good exercise that gives me an opportunity to keep my writing skills exercised. With free blog platforms available, anyone can start their own online storytelling journal.

Origins. For those of you who are new to these monthly personal updates, they began about 26 years ago out of a desire to share from my personal life about topics of lifeways (faith/philosophy), health, career, finances, relationships, effective living, and public interest efforts. This is based on the Life Map presented on the Resources For Life website. [View]
