Greg Johnson – Monthly Update 201709

Personal Update 201709 | 30 September 2017 | Saturday

Greetings,

I hope you’re doing well. Thanks for taking a moment to read my latest update.

Health & Wellness

The big wellness news this month is that I’ve started another 120-day wellness challenge. This time I’m developing a 1,500 calorie-per-day diet with mostly low-carb foods and little or no sugar. The early results are quite good. I’ll have some clinical data for you in a few months. For further details, read “7 Powerful Wellness Videos on Weight Loss and Insulin Resistance” where I share further information about the program and some of the videos that inspired it.

Videos

If you’re interested in seeing some of the videos I’m producing, you can visit YouTube.com/resourcesforlife/videos to see the latest uploads. You’ll find videos on technology, bicycle riding, woodworking, and other topics. One of my favorites was a humorous old-style “jingle” advertisement for Iowa City Computer Support.

Below is a video message I recorded for a more personalized update.

Many thanks to all of you who keep in touch and provide support for the work I do.

    1. Yep, it does seem severe, but surprisingly it seems like the right number for me to lose about 2 – 3 pounds per week if I also exercise a lot. I seem to have a very ‘efficient’ metabolism. 🙂

  1. There is more to nutrition and wellness than counting calories? I hear you mentioning dairy alot. How about veggies? Increase in beans?

    1. When cutting calories to 1,500 it’s similar to living in a tiny house. One needs to quickly determine what their priorities are. So, with such a small calorie budget, I make sure I get the nutrients I need like protein. I limit carbs and sugar quite a bit since those make people more hungry. I don’t worry too much about nutrition. I take supplements and eat a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, and nuts along with oatmeal, etc. I need to make an inventory of the foods I eat so I can share that with people. I expanded on this resource page which contains the sources of information I’m using going forward. https://www.resourcesforlife.com/docs/item17764
